Maryland State Board of Education (State SMOB)

Tasked with providing an informed viewpoint of the 896,837+ students of the State of Maryland, I was elected by the students and appointed by the Governor of Maryland as a voting member and 34th Student Member of the Maryland State Board of Education. I currently am also the first student in Maryland’s history to seek a second term in this role.

Intern | United States Senate

September 2019 - January 2020

As a paid Intern for a member of the United States Senate, I was responsible for drafting correspondence to constituents and federal agencies, compiling daily press clips for staff, data entry, and a plethora of other tasks, working upwards of 25-35 hours per week and as the youngest intern for the Senator during the Fall 2019 and Winter 2020 semesters.

Chairwoman | Maryland Youth Advisory Council

Created through Maryland law as the official advisory capacity to the Governor and Legislature for youth ages 14-22, I lead the Council in all legislative advocacy in addition to initiatives to better the quality of Maryland youth, namely a recent anti-vaping initiative, as the elected Chairwoman of the Council.

I chair a large women’s caucus of young women ages 14-36, to organize, program, and advocate around women’s issues and to increase the amount of young, female, women in office through different legislative, organizing, and programming initiatives.

Member | All-American Model United Nations International Travel Team

As a member of the All-American Model United Nations International Travel Team, I am a part of the team that travels world-wide representing the United States to International Model UN simulations and am a writer for All-American's online magazine, Unmod.

Vice Chairwoman | Maryland Youth Advisory Council

As Vice Chairwoman of MYAC, I assume the duties of the Chair in their absence and work with them and councilmembers in MYAC to give feedback and recommendations to the Governor, legislature, and other bodies regarding public policies and programs that affect the future of youth in Maryland.

Legislative Affairs Coordinator | Maryland Association of Student Councils

Currently, as Legislative Affairs Coordinator I am responsible for proposing stances on youth-related bills to be considered by MASC to the MD General Assembly, representing MASC’s position to the MDGA, promoting and planning MASC’s lobbying day in Annapolis, and for empowering other students to be advocates for youth related issues with tools, skills, and legislative information.

Chief of Staff | Maryland Association of Student Councils

In my work as Chief of Staff, I assisted the President, worked one-on-one with the 38 MASC Staff to ensure their and MASC’s success and took on spearheading the First MASC School Safety Forum in Annapolis and being one of the organizers for MASC’s First Women’s Leadership Conference.

Member | Maryland GOCCP Juvenile Justice SAG Emerging Leaders Committee

As a non-voting member of the State Advisory Group (SAG) through the Emerging Leaders Committee I help to advise the Governor and legislature on compliance with the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention act, review and comment on grant proposals, monitor programs, and work to advocate for juvenile justice reform.

Public Relations Director | Baltimore County Student Council

May 2017-May 2018

As Public Relations Director, I was the chief editor of the BCSC Newsletter, the BCSC Bulletin, and worked to increase and expand BCSC’s outreach to schools and students in Baltimore County. Serving on both the Executive Board and Officer Team, I was involved in planning, and brainstorming for BCSC's events and initiatives during my term.

Member | Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent's Advisory Council

As a member of the BCPS Superintendent's Advisory Council, I help to advise the BCPS Superintendent about the youth opinion on educational policies and strive to serve as a powerful and accurate voice for students all over the county to the Superintendent and other administrative leaders.
